A Typical Day

There have been a surge of these day in the life posts as of late and I decided to share what a typical day is around here...I will note that it was hard, at times, to remember to take a photo.

8:45 am: Little Mama wakes up. While she is chatting in her crib I get her bottle ready. She likes to drink her bottle as soon as she gets up. It has been a challenge attempting to transition her to a sippy cup. She will drink from one on occasion, but only a few sips. It also has to been one with a straw, but she is a fussy eater so I don't mind the bottle.

9 am: Little Mama greets me with a big smile. She is such a happy little one.

9:30 am: While Little Mama eats her breakfast, usually pancakes and strawberries, I work on blog posts and check my social media friends.

10 am to 11:30 am: House work gets done and supper is prepped. Lately Little Mama helps me clean by going where ever I went to and wipes her hands all over it. She smiles and thinks she is helping so I let her do it. She wakes around with a paper towel cleaning everything, even the dog...it's the cutest.

11:30 to 12:30: It's our play time together. I sit on the floor with her and we just laugh and play. I read books to her, she reads to me and sometimes we watch tv. Yo Gabba Gabba has been played on repeat at our house thanks to Amazon Prime

12:30 pm: After all that eating we build up an appetite so we sit and have lunch together. Little Mama has loved olives as of late, but I can not get her to eat a vegetable. I know its phases, but feeding a toddler is super hard. Today she ate.
1:45 pm: Little Mama goes down for a nap. She only naps once a day now. While she sleeps I study for my social worker license. It is a super intense exam and I have to take it at the end of August. Nap time is the only time I have to myself and today she napped for two whole hrs which is super rare.

3:45 pm: Little Mama wakes up. While I cook she watches Ellen. Today I made meatballs which is my husband's favorite.

4:30 pm: Hubby is home and we have dinner together. little Mama is not too thrilled about the meatballs and throws them overboard. I give her a yogurt and cheese which is loves.

5:30 pm: We head out for some shopping and Little Mama insists on walking around showing us what is on her list of things that she wants. We looked for some beach toys as we are going to head out to the beach this weekend.

9 pm: We got back home and got ready for bed time. Little Mama took a bath and was in bed by 9 pm. I am exhausted too so I watched a Dateline episode on my iPad and fell asleep watching it. I hate when that happens as I start to dream about being in the episode and Dateline is not one of those shows you want to be in! Scandel yes, Dateline, not so much.

  1. I wish my kids would sleep in until 8:45! Lately they're up between 6:30 and 7 a.m. - but they do go to bed around 7 p.m., so I guess I'm trading that quiet time in the morning for the time I have in the evening. I have the best of intentions to be up before them but it rarely happens. I value my sleep too much! Did she get her chair? Ellie stole Topher's Spiderman chair and lugs it all around the house :)

  2. hahaha thats funny! We decided not to get it because we are going to shop around for a better price...in the winter she will go to bed around 7 which helps with having some time to myself. with the sun still out and kids playing loudly outside she will never go to bed at that time...not til the winter anyway
